1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ScanAPet ("the Service"), operated by WildPipe, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ScanAPet is a community-powered platform that connects people with publicly accessible microchip scanner stations. We provide a directory and map of scanner stations registered by community members. We do not own, operate, or maintain the individual scanner stations listed on our platform.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and registering a station. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Station Listings
By registering a scanner station, you represent and warrant that:
- The information you provide is accurate and up to date
- You have the right to list the station at the specified location
- Your scanner is in working condition
- You will keep your station information current, including hours and availability
We reserve the right to review, approve, suspend, or remove any station listing at our discretion.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent station listings
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without permission
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of station listings, the availability of any scanner station, or the functionality of any scanner. We are not responsible for the condition, safety, or legality of any scanner station listed on our platform.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WildPipe, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages related to visiting a scanner station, the accuracy of microchip readings, or the reunion of pets with their owners.
8. Intellectual Property
The ScanAPet name, logo, and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by WildPipe, LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as station photos and descriptions) but grant us a license to display it on the platform.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
